Consider the function f(x) = 2x³ - 3x² in the domain [-1, 2]. The global minimum of f(x) is __________.
-5(± 0.1 accepted)
Explanation
f'(x)=6x²-6x=0 → x=0,1 (critical points, both interior). Evaluating f at all candidates: f(-1)=-5, f(0)=0, f(1)=-1, f(2)=4. The global minimum on [-1,2] is f(-1) = -5.
