Given two complex numbers z1 = 5+(5√3)i and z2 = 2/√3 + 2i, the argument of z1/z2 in degrees is

  • 0
  • B30
  • C60
  • D90

Explanation

z1 = 5+5√3i has magnitude 10 and argument atan(5√3/5)=60°. z2 = 2/√3+2i has magnitude √(4/3+4)=4/√3 and argument atan(2/(2/√3))=atan(√3)=60°. The argument of a quotient is the difference of arguments: 60°−60°=0°.
