Medium
For a fully developed flow of water in a pipe having diameter 10 cm, velocity 0.1 m/s and kinematic viscosity 10⁻⁵ m²/s, the value of Darcy friction factor is __________.
0.064(± 0.005 accepted)
Explanation
Re=VD/ν=0.1×0.1/10⁻⁵=1000, which is laminar (Re<2300). For laminar flow, the Darcy friction factor f=64/Re=64/1000=0.064.
