Which of the following system calls results in the sending of SYN packets?
- Asocket
- Bbind
- Clisten
- connect
Explanation
connect() (called by the client) initiates the TCP three-way handshake by sending the SYN packet. socket() just creates a descriptor, bind() assigns an address, and listen() puts a socket into passive listening mode — none of these transmit anything over the network.
