Consider the equations dx/dt+x+y=0 and dy/dt−x=0. The above set of equations is represented by
- Ad²y/dt²−dy/dt−y=0
- Bd²x/dt²−dx/dt−y=0
- d²y/dt²+dy/dt+y=0
- Dd²x/dt²+dx/dt+y=0
Explanation
From the second equation, x=dy/dt. Substituting into the first: d/dt(dy/dt)+dy/dt+y=0, i.e. d²y/dt²+dy/dt+y=0.
