Bernoulli's Equation
GATE 2018
Hard
A power-law non-Newtonian liquid has apparent viscosity 1 Pa·s at shear rate 10 s⁻¹, and 0.5 Pa·s at shear rate 100 s⁻¹. The apparent viscosity (Pa·s) at a shear stress of 10 N/m² is (rounded off to two decimal places)
1 Pa.s(± 0.05 accepted)
Explanation
τ=K·γ̇^n. At γ̇=10: τ=1×10=10 N/m² — exactly the target shear stress. So the apparent viscosity at τ=10 N/m² is simply the already-given value at γ̇=10, i.e. 1.00 Pa·s.
