Medium

Gas M: P=25bar, T=300K, Pc=75bar, Tc=150K. Gas N: P=75bar, T=1000K, Pc=225bar, Tc=500K. Compressibility factors ZM, ZN are read off the same generalized compressibility chart. The relation between ZM and ZN is

  • AZM=8ZN
  • BZM=3ZN
  • ZM=ZN
  • DZM=0.333ZN

Explanation

Both gases have identical reduced properties: Pr=25/75=75/225=0.333, Tr=300/150=1000/500=2.0. By the principle of corresponding states, identical Pr,Tr give identical Z: ZM=ZN.
