In nucleate boiling, the pressure inside a vapor bubble is higher than the surrounding saturated liquid's pressure. Assuming both are saturated, the temperature of the liquid will ALWAYS be
- Aat 100°C
- lower than the temperature of the vapour
- Cequal to the temperature of the vapour
- Dhigher than the temperature of the vapour
Explanation
Higher pressure inside the bubble means a higher saturation temperature for the vapor there. Since the outer liquid is saturated at the lower external pressure, its temperature is lower than the vapor's.
