Hard

A CSTR has a long inlet pipe (plug flow); a tracer is injected at the pipe entrance. The E-curve at the CSTR exit is zero until t=5min, jumps to a peak of 0.05/min, then decays exponentially (CSTR-like). The ratio of pipe volume to CSTR volume, rounded to 2 decimal places, is

0.25(± 0.02 accepted)

Explanation

The 5-minute delay is the plug-flow pipe's residence time. The CSTR's own residence time follows from its peak E-value: τCSTR=1/0.05=20min. Ratio=5/20=0.25.
