Vapor-Liquid Equilibrium
GATE 2015
Medium
For a pure liquid, dP_sat/dT=0.1 bar/K (300-350K). The boiling point at 2 bar is 320K. The temperature (K) at which it boils at 1 bar, rounded to 1 decimal place, is
310 K(± 1 accepted)
Explanation
ΔT=ΔP/(dP/dT)=(1−2)/0.1=−10K. T=320−10=310K.
