For the same adiabatic compression (ideal gas, Cp=(5/2)R, 1 bar and 300K compressed isentropically to 600K), the final pressure P2 (in bar) is
- A2^(3/4)
- B2^(5/4)
- C2^(3/2)
- 2^(5/2)
Explanation
γ=Cp/Cv=(5/2)/(3/2)=5/3. Isentropic relation: T2/T1=(P2/P1)^((γ−1)/γ). 600/300=2=(P2)^(0.4) (since (γ−1)/γ=0.4). P2=2^(1/0.4)=2^2.5=2^(5/2).
